Carpentier supplies exterior cladding in HOTwood clear pine, a knot-free variant of thermo pine. This cladding is free of knots for a clean, modern look. Thanks to the smart Grad® installation system, the wooden profiles can be installed quickly and easily. We are also happy to offer advice an any accessories that could improve on-site efficiency.
Carpentier has a beautiful assortment of HOTwood clear pine profiles that are delivered ready for installation. This smooth, flaw-free pine is sourced from sustainably managed forests and is thus 100% environmentally responsible, making it an outstanding alternative for increasingly scarce hardwoods. In contrast to thermo pine, our thermo clear pine is free of knots. Left untreated, this timber cladding will mostly develop the same beautifully weathered grey patina as our other thermally treated cladding options. As an option, you can ask us to treat clear pine HOTwood profiles with grey oil. This will ensure they grey more evenly, without any annoying differences in those areas shaded by roof overhangs. In addition, the oil is dirt-resistant, meaning your wood will look better for longer.
Because it is free of knots, our thermo clear pine cladding is the perfect choice for outdoor projects in contemporary designs. Depending on your design, you can select a cladding profile for vertical or horizontal installation. You can also choose between open or closed joint cladding systems. And our range of profiles includes closed cladding with an open façade effect that is completely unique and creates a new world of options for architects and designers.
With the exception of the tongue-and-groove boards, all of our ready-to-use HOTwood clear pine profiles come with the Grad® invisible installation system for quick and easy installation.

To install HOTwood clear pine cladding, we advise using our QuickClip® profiles, which we supply in combination with the Grad® installation system. This smart system guarantees invisible installation and perfect alignment of cladding boards for aesthetically pleasing results every time. Moreover, it significantly reduces installation time. Woodworking professionals can get straight to work: simply click boards into place on the aluminium joists. Clips are pre-mounted.
Woodworking professionals can reduce installation time by up to 50% by using our QuickClip® products instead of traditional installation methods.
Before you begin fitting cladding, we recommend you read the installation instructions carefully. You will find them in our downloads section, under “Manuals Cladding, Panelling and Ceiling”. You will also find a step-by-step guide for installing cladding around corners for some unique QuickClip® profiles.
At Carpentier, all the accessories you need for fitting cladding are in stock and can be ordered at the same time. These include: waterproof membranes, battens and extra aluminium joists for finishing windowsills and door edges, and clip grips, etc.
Thanks to QuickClip® cladding profiles, your cladding is a completely responsible option in a circular economy. If required, cladding can be removed entirely and re-installed with no risk of damage. In other words, the boards and the Grad® installation system are 100% recyclable and ideal for circular construction. With a set convenient dismantling keys, removing and reassembling cladding is quick and easy.
When cladding is installed vertically, the effects of gravity could cause boards to slide. Glue is often used to ensure they remain in place. However, this means that our QuickClip® cladding loses its circular character. That’s why we recommend to use the Grad® clip grip. This handy tool locks the cladding boards firmly onto the aluminium rail, without stopping them from being easy to dismantle and keeping their circularity. One clip grip per groove is enough to prevent any sliding.
We can apply a fire retardant treatment to our HOTwood clear pine cladding to meet standards up to class B-s2.d0. We can also apply an oil finish in any desired colour. A natural look is a particularly popular option for thermo clear pine, and many people choose a transparent oil or stain. For an even more natural appearance, we can brush the wood before applying oil. Other tones and on-trend timeless colours are available of course. Feel free to ask for our help when choosing options for your outdoor project.
Carpentier works closely with architects and dealers who create remarkable projects using our thermo clear pine, such as a residence with clean lines in cement and wood in Koksijde, and a modern extension in Oostende.

CBQC
QuickClip® profile: 42 x 42 x 3000 mm or more
Interval of 18 mm or 38 mm
Including the Grad® installation system, consisting of aluminium joists* (12 x 55 mm)
with pre-mounted clips for placement at 60 cm intervals
(1.9 m joist per m²)
For stable and circular installation, we strongly recommend you use Grad® clip grips. This extremely handy tool enables you to lock the cladding boards on the aluminium rail and prevents any slipping due to gravity. One clip grip per groove is enough for each board.
For the very best protection, we recommend applying a finish with a UV-resistant oil or paint before installation. This finish will need to be reapplied regularly before it wears off. If you leave your Clear Pine cladding uncoated, dust and other airborne particles are more likely to adhere to the porous surface of the natural wood.
Our most popular finish: natural look
Also available without the installation system
Also available in HOTwood ash and HOTwood pine
*Under some conditions, the black coating on the rails may fade over time. For this reason, we advise customers to have aluminium rails anodised when using profiles with gaps of more than 10 mm.
