Carpentier has developed a diverse assortment of high-quality cladding profiles in thermo ash. HOTwood ash cladding is available with and without the Grad® installation system. Various finish options are available for each. Thanks to the tips and advice offered by our wood specialists, as a professional you can also be sure installation will be quick and simple.
Our thermo ash cladding comes in a range of ready-made profiles. Alternatively, we can create a profile in any desired shape and add the smart Grad® mounting system if required. The advantage of this invisible installation is that the wooden boards can be aligned perfectly, whether the cladding is vertical or horizontal.
We offer the option of pre-weathering for HOTwood ash profiles. This innovative treatment ensures that outdoor cladding weathers beautifully and evenly, with no unattractive spotting. It also prevents the colour differences that can occur in less sun-exposed areas, for instance where overhanging eaves and trees cast their shadows.
Carpentier can also finish HOTwood ash outdoor cladding entirely according to your specifications, including brushing, charring and oiling, or apply a fire-retardant treatment. Please let us know if you would like more information about finishing options for your project.

Before you begin fitting cladding, we recommend you read the installation instructions carefully. You will find them in our downloads section, under “Manuals Cladding, Panelling and Ceiling”. You will also find a step-by-step guide for installing cladding around corners for some unique QuickClip® profiles.
The smart Grad® mounting system is a valuable additional feature in combination with thermo ash cladding. This invisible installation system is ideal for our QuickClip® profiles, enabling professionals like you to get straight down to work. Clips are pre-installed on the aluminium joists with the precise spacing required. All you have to do is click the timber cladding into place, thus substantially reducing installation time and costs.
Watch our tutorial and find out for yourself.
At Carpentier, all the accessories you need for fitting cladding are in stock and can be ordered at the same time. These include: waterproof membranes, battens and extra aluminium joists for finishing windowsills and door edges, and clip grips, etc.
When cladding is installed vertically, the effects of gravity could cause boards to slide. Glue is often used to ensure they remain in place. However, this means that our QuickClip® cladding loses its circular character. That’s why we recommend to use the Grad® clip grip. This handy tool locks the cladding boards firmly onto the aluminium rail, without stopping them from being easy to dismantle and keeping their circularity. One clip grip per groove is enough to prevent any sliding.
QuickClip® cladding boards can easily be dismantled without damage using a set of dismantling keys. Dismantling boards can be really useful if work needs to be carried out behind the cladding, or if you want to smarten up the entire façade, or perhaps paint it a more on-trend colour.
Carpentier works closely with top-flight partners and architects in Belgium and abroad in order to ensure our HOTwood ash cladding is just the right colour to blend in perfectly. Pre-weathered ash was chosen for this modern house with a white façade in Zottegem (Belgium), while the cladding for the house in Noordwijk (the Netherlands) was oiled in the on-trend colour Bison Brown.
