Carpentier is an official Abodo® retailer and, with Vulcan®, offers high-end, feature timber cladding for contemporary architecture. Thanks to heat tempering, the FSC®- certified Radiata pine cladding boards boast increased stability, durability and technical performance, whilst retaining their warm, understated appearance.
Abodo cladding is made from FSC®-certified Radiata pine, from plantations in New Zealand. This makes this feature cladding an environmentally-friendly alternative to slow-growth timber from ancient forests, without compromising on style or performance. And this means you are choosing a sustainable façade finish that really stands out, without placing unnecessary pressure on precious old-growth forests.
Thanks to a chemical-free heat treatment process, the wood boasts excellent dimensional stability, natural sustainability and a warm, uniform look. So Vulcan® is particularly suitable for architectural façades which combine style, durability and technical quality.

What sets Abodo Vulcan® apart is its vertical grain technology: the timber is quarter-sawn, glued and resawn, yielding extremely stable boards, with less risk of warping or surface microcracks. So Vulcan® is a great choice for understated façades, with wide profiles and modern applications for which dimensional stability and attractiveness are essential.
With flat grain boards, tree rings tend to be horizontal, which can make the board more liable to movement or warping, and to surface microcracks. With Abodo Vulcan®, the board’s tree rings are vertical. This vertical grain structure ensures better dimensional stability, reduced risk of warping and a smarter façade.
At Carpentier, Abodo Vulcan® boards are available planed on all four sides and unprofiled, ready to be transformed or custom-profiled. This Clear Pine cladding can be fitted vertically or horizontally.

Starting in autumn 2026, we will be expanding our range with Vaaro® Fire: a super durable and fire-retardant option (reaction to fire Class B*) for projects with high fire safety requirements.
Just like Abodo Vulcan®, Vaaro® Fire boards are available planed on all four sides, ready to be custom-profiled.
Abodo Vulcan® cladding offers great freedom when it comes to finishes and appearance. Depending on what you are looking for, the wood can be left natural, weathered, brushed, charred or finished with a clear or opaque oil. Vulcan® blends wonderfully with a wide variety of architectural styles: from warm and natural façades to dark, understated or distinctly modern façades.
Vulcan® isn’t just a style choice; it’s also a sustainable construction solution. Carbon footprint assessments show that Vulcan® stores more carbon than is used to produce it.
Vulcan® also comes with an Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) and is Declare Red List Free-certified. So this cladding is particularly interesting for projects where transparency about materials, circularity and a low environmental impact are essential.
As it grows, a tree absorbs the CO₂ present in the air and stores the carbon CO₂ releases in the wood. This is how Abodo Vulcan® cladding captures more than 7.56 kg of carbon per m².
Abodo® is an environmentally-friendly alternative to tropical woods. Plus is combines natural beauty and technical performance. Find out more about this wood variety, the various Abodo ranges and what it can be used for on our page on Abodo wood.
