To create a charred wood finish we use Shou Sugi Ban, an originally Japanese technique use to make wood more durable. To develop the finish, wood is ‘burnt’ to create a charred layer that is resistant to the effects of weather. From lightly toasted to deep black, our own workshops can devise exactly the right finish.
